First set is outstanding! Great Curtain opener right into an early Cavern. Reba is tight, really good tonight. The only possible complaint is that it sounds like Fish cuts Trey off at the highest part of his solo. Just an opinion. Uncle Pen was great. Ice has really come along. Page really digs in. Almost sounds like a Mission Impossible tease. A rare Eliza is nice. Llama is absolutely ripping! Mound has also come a long way. Just a little loose in the middle section, otherwise great. ATR was pretty tight. A good Bouncing flows right into a creepy Bowie intro. Kind of a Spooky jam tease in the middle, or some other song, I can't tell. Trey rips the end of this one great. And a shushing of the crowd for a Memories closer. Again great first set!
Second set starts off with a solid Wilson. Fish does a little swing tease before the end. My Sweet One is tight. Stash is great. Magilla is another nice rare one to break up the set. Sounds like Trey is playing a little of his Oh Kee Pa part over top of it? Maze is great but, the only downfall for me is that Page is on piano tonight instead of the organ. YEM is good but a little loose at times. Not sure if I've heard it before but, Mike has an envelope filter now. Good, funny, vocal jam. Horse is good. Silent still is not all there. The timing is a little off. Chalkdust rips as usual except, Mike is kind of missing from the mix. Full on Cold as Ice into a pretty good Terrapin with intros from Fish, and an unexpected HYHU outro? Second show in a row with no Cold as Ice outro. Harry is a little loose too. I think they put so much energy in tonight that they were getting tired. Golgi is a great closer to a fine show.
"We only have time for one more." Trey says as they launch into a raunchy BBFCFM. Fishman says "Look at that beautiful chandelier." before the solo count off. Awesome!
Really, really good show tonight! Don't know if it's because they were close to home or what but, please listen to this show!
