BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY PAVILION
Boise, ID
Soundcheck: The Wedge, Weigh
SET 1:
Possum: The jam is definitely odd and different in the early going. It eventually evens out and becomes standard Possum fare.
Weigh: Standard.
Taste[1] - Not much to say here regarding the debut. They have lots of work to do.
Strange Design: Standard.
Stash: Standard.
If I Could: Really nice. >
Scent of a Mule: Standard.
The Wedge: Standard.
Funky Bitch: Standard.
Slave to the Traffic Light: Pretty good Slave. You can tell each member is engaged and passionate but something about the last minute or so they cannot quite all get on the same page. Nice effort though.
SET 2:
Ha Ha Ha: LOL >
Maze: Standard.
Spock's Brain: Standard.
Theme From the Bottom: Really ominous and dark jam. So weird they would do this for the first time they play it, then go on and play it ‘the right way’ a bunch until 11.27.96. So interesting. Would absolutely recommend this jam!
Hold Your Head Up > Lonesome Cowboy Bill[2] > Hold Your Head Up: Standard.
Acoustic Army[1] Standard
Sample in a Jar: Standard.
Harry Hood: Love this Hood, they really go for it. Same effort here as in Slave but for this they definitely all hooked up and combined to make it a great Hood. Would recommend.
Suzy Greenberg: Standard.
ENCORE:
While My Guitar Gently Weeps: Standard.
Summary: First set is basically a nothing burger. Set two had two cool jams but a very meh setlist. This show is subpar, tour opener, yada yada. 3/5.
Replay Value: Theme from the Bottom, Harry Hood
