I am usually with a dozen or more close friends in a place that is distant from my home seeing and hearing new things in every performance. The point of the recap is to provide an honest account of the quality of the music in a historical context relative to the rest of the tour and the band's history. I'm never going to tell you that I had a bad time at a Phish show. That just isn't possible. But sometimes the music is just average great. It's still better than ANY other band out there. But sometimes it isn't as good as itself.
