And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I was at the apex of the amphitheater, the very top center of the lawn. Flat space to dance and indulgent Kuroda atiisinals to enjoy! The moon glowed over the back wall when the immense storm that loomed just outside the gates finally subsided. But there were some amazing focused Jams on Trey's part to that moon that sat at 11 for him throughout the entire second set. Twist was when it began showing itself, then Back on the train had us howling like Muppets. Reba rode that train to the Moon again. By the time Reba was saying goodbye on such a set of waves of highlights by Kuroda, tears rolled down my cheeks. Then, to flow into Bathtub to clean off?! I was returning to the years when my life was a haze, I was a little less hardened, and the world was a bit larger than I thought it was (maybe that's because I recall when meetings and encounters with folks at a show came up when you serendipitously came upon them, not looking down into a cellular phone hallway straight to your crew) This Bathtub busted me open and "I shall never grow so old again."
Farmhouse was so sweet an pretty. I kept saying, "This version should be dubbed the 'Farmhouse Suite 7-31'" This song could have finished that show and sent me home on a Kuroda-lighted wave of blues and greens. I saw that as such a lovely way to conclude a powerful show of exploration and trust into the quiet of the next 15 hours between the shows and allow tonight's show to be a continuation of a whole weekend of southern Phishin bliss.
In conclusion, I needed Phish.net to confer with my thoughts that this is a show, especially a second set, that will be in the charts. This had so much pure joy and youthful vigor, coupled with some humble wisdom. I am ever so grateful to get to be a part of the Southern Swing of Shows!
They are truly the No Men in No Man's Land!
