i not trying to be a downer, but i really don't see why this jam is so amazing...

i think a lot of other jams from 2013 were far better... but maybe its just my personal taste.

Upon first listen, I think it's because their playing is so clean, and the whole thing just builds up so perfectly to that last 5 minutes or so for a spectacular climax.

because they're playing devotion to a dream. around 14:30 you can hear trey tease the "it's today!" part and around 16 min you can hear the main riff. they're trolling everyone with their halloween set and no one even knows it.

I was there. It was positively entrancing. "Best" 3.0 song I've seen in person, knocking off the 6/10/11 Camden Curtain With. But this is music; it's all subjective (and since it's Phish, it's subjective AND opinionated!)

ps--I forgot to mention that every time I hear Tres channeling Dickie Betts in the 17+ minute mark it amuses me.

I love this jam. My most listened to 2013 cut, no question.

I loved my view.

Pure class. You can tell it's gonna be hot from like 12mins in. Numerous cutaways to fish eyes shut just grooving.

I get a heavy Allman Bros vibe during that section. This is a DWD that has it all.

Being there was incredible but this one ages like a fine wine and I can't get enough... Just was listening to it yesterday and I have to hear it at least once a week. Chills when certain notes are hit and I'm transported back to the floor. Great Show!

I think I would have enjoyed this alot more in person... I agree, it's a little too clean for me and happy, but I'm not sayin it's bad at ALL, I just dig the outer limits a little more...

I actually forgot how good this DWD was because the Twenty Years Later two songs later blew me away.

I like the wine reference earlier in this thread. This one is for guys like us that get off on pure rock-god glory. I like every way this band points its tunes in whatever direction reveals itself. But, every now and then, a pure rock performance, when done as masterfully as this, just gets me moving like nothing else.

Fantastic show imo among a fall tour that produced straight fire almost every night. Thoroughly enjoyed this disease. But I do have to say that twenty years later came out of nowhere and stole the show for me at least.. c yall on summa tourr

It's starts off kind of standard, but then just takes off about 2/3 of the way through. Great performance, I'm going to have to check out some more 2013 shows.
